Croatia (Formally Yugoslavia ) is located in Central and Southeast Europe, bordering Hungary to the northeast, Serbia to the east, Bosnia and Herzegovina to the southeast, Montenegro to the southeast, the Adriatic Sea to the southwest and Slovenia to the northwest. It is 80 miles due East of Italy.
Croatia has just come into focus as a holiday destination having been forgotten since the Baltic Conflicts of the 1990`s.
It has since been rebuilt by the United Nations and has a strong infrastructure of roads giving access to all major locations.
On this tour we concentrate on the coastal regions ,starting at the city of Split and then moving onto the idyllic island of Hvar for a couple of days.
We then move up country staying for two nights on site at Plitvice Lakes National Park.
From the lakes we move to the town of Motovun in central Istria district .( Europe`s new Tuscany ) Then on to Motovun a Roman Hill fort surrounded by valleys and vineyards.
Next up is a couple of days in Rovinj, a picturesque coastal city and the Roman colosseum at Pula.
Final night is spent in Pula ,a seafront city on the tip of Croatia’s Istrian Peninsula which is known for its protected harbor, beach-lined coast and Roman ruins and amphitheatre. We have till teatime to spend in the city or on the beach before getting the evening plane back to the U.K
