Croatia (Formally Yugoslavia ) is located in Central and Southeast Europe, bordering Hungary to the northeast, Serbia to the east, Bosnia and Herzegovina to the southeast, Montenegro to the southeast, the Adriatic Sea to the southwest and Slovenia to the northwest. It is 80 miles due East of Italy.
Croatia has just come into focus as a holiday destination having been forgotten since the Baltic Conflicts of the 1990`s.
It has since been rebuilt by the United Nations and has a strong infrastructure of roads giving access to all major locations.
On this tour we concentrate on the coastal regions ,starting at the city of Split and then moving onto the idyllic island of Hvar for a couple of days.
We then move up country staying for two nights on site at Plitvice Lakes National Park.
From the lakes we move to the town of Motovun in central Istria district .( Europe`s new Tuscany ) , Motovun is a Roman Hill fort surrounded by valleys and vineyards. This is base area for trips to Rovinj ,a picturesque coastal city and the Roman colosseum at Pula.
The final location is at Samobor, a castle town with lots of Bars and Cafes .
Samobor is 25km from Zargreb Airport .
